Member Directory Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
The Member Directory in the Mithras Mobile app provides authenticated members with access to contact information for fellow members to facilitate communication within the Organization. This policy governs the acceptable use of that information and establishes clear boundaries to protect member privacy.
The directory is a privilege of membership, not a general-purpose contact database. Access to it carries a responsibility to use the information respectfully and exclusively for legitimate member-to-member club purposes.
2. Permitted Uses
Members may use directory contact information for:
- Personal, non-commercial communication between members on matters related to the Order of Mithras
- Coordinating attendance at club events, meetings, and social gatherings
- Following up on club business discussed at meetings or events
- Reaching out to a fellow member for purposes reasonably related to membership in the Organization
3. Prohibited Uses
Members may not use directory contact information for any of the following:
3.1 Commercial Solicitation
Using any member's phone number, email address, or other contact information to solicit business, promote products or services, or engage in any form of commercial outreach — whether the member is involved in the business or not.
3.2 Unsolicited Mass Communications
Sending bulk emails, text messages, or other unsolicited mass communications to members using contact information obtained from the directory, other than through the App's authorized announcement features (reserved for officers).
3.3 External Disclosure
Sharing, publishing, exporting, or otherwise disclosing the contact information of any member to any person outside the Organization's membership, without that member's express written consent.
3.4 Harassment or Abuse
Using contact information to send harassing, threatening, defamatory, or otherwise abusive communications to any member.
3.5 Political or Advocacy Solicitation
Using directory contact information to solicit support for political campaigns, candidates, ballot initiatives, or advocacy organizations.
3.6 Data Aggregation
Systematically collecting, copying, or compiling member contact information for any purpose beyond the personal uses described in Section 2.
4. Member Privacy Controls
Members may opt out of displaying specific contact fields in the directory through the App's profile settings. Members who wish to limit their visibility should configure their privacy settings accordingly. The Secretary retains administrative access to all member contact information regardless of directory opt-out settings, for official organizational use only.
5. Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Loss of directory access within the App
- Suspension or termination of App account access
- Referral to the officers of the Organization for action consistent with the bylaws
The Organization reserves the right to investigate reported violations and to take appropriate action at its discretion.
6. Reporting Violations
Members who believe another member has misused directory information should report the matter to the Secretary at secretary@orderofmithras.com with a description of the conduct and, if possible, supporting documentation.
